This page is for the moment after the download, or for a PLY or SPLAT file you received from someone else. You do not need to generate again to look at it. Open the free PLY viewer.
The published help text says browser tools run in the browser and do not consume generation credits. Use that path when the file already exists. Generation credits are for turning a photo into a new splat, not for opening a file you already hold.
If the viewer will not open the file, check that it really is PLY or SPLAT and that the download finished. A half-saved file and a mesh with a confusing name are different problems. Renaming a mesh to look like PLY does not make it a splat.
Keep the generator closed while you are only inspecting. Starting a job from the viewer screen would mix two intents. One intent is look. The other intent is create. The links below keep them apart.
Account history is useful when the file came from your own signed-in run and you want to download it again later. A file a teammate sent you can still be opened locally in the viewer without putting it through generation.
This page does not claim every PLY variant in the world will load, and it does not claim the viewer repairs broken files. It tells you which button matches a file you already have.
