Image to 3D Without a Local GPU

The generator page says you do not install a local GPU. TripoSplat turns one image into a Gaussian splat and lets you download PLY or SPLAT. Start on one image.

People ask whether image to 3D requires a gaming PC. On TripoSplat the generator page already answers that for this product: no local GPU, and no self-hosted setup. The hosted job turns one image into a Gaussian splat you download as PLY or SPLAT.

That sentence is about where the generation runs. It is not a claim that every laptop can display every large file smoothly, and it is not a claim that a viewer on a very old machine will feel instant. The generation step is the one the product page says you do not install locally.

You still need a browser and one image. You do not need to clone a repository, install a Python stack, or pick a CUDA version. If that is the work you were trying to avoid, this is the path that matches it.

The file you get is still a splat. Skipping the local GPU does not turn the download into a mesh. Printing, rigging, and engine import are separate jobs, and this generator does not pretend to finish them.

If the machine in front of you is only needed for viewing a file you already downloaded, use the free PLY viewer. That is a different button from generation. Do not start a hosted job just to look at a file you already have.

This page does not rank hardware, and it does not say a particular laptop is supported. It repeats the published generator promise and the file type, then points you at the generator, the pricing page, and the viewer.
