TL;DR
Meshy's 3D Agent is a conversational loop — chat → 2D concepts → 3D. Useful when the brief is vague. If you already have one clear photo and need a downloadable PLY/SPLAT, chat is extra. On TripoSplat a default Gaussian job is about 48–72 credits (FAQ); the smallest paid pack is Single — $9.9 / 250 credits (~three to five default runs). Failed jobs return credits.

When Agent chat helps — and when it is extra

Vague brief — “something premium”Yes — iterate in chat—

No dunking: an Agent is a real product for exploration. A pay-per-splat host is a real product for priced, accepted PLY/SPLAT unit cost. Different jobs.

Rough Single math: 250 ÷ 60 ≈ 4 accepted default splats if every run succeeds once; at 72 cr ≈ 3 floors. Re-read larger packs on-page before buying after accept rate is known.

Meshy 3D Agent (public feature page)

  • Flow marketed as chat → 2D concepts → 3D
  • Print-ready / game-ready narrative on the feature page
  • Free plan: chat is free; credits spend on generation actions
  • Exact credits per Image-to-3D / Agent action: verify in-app — do not invent a fixed burn from marketing copy

Monthly Meshy pools are covered on the sibling splat-vs-mesh post; this page cares about Agent loop vs unit-cost splat.

Only count runs you keep after the orbit test. A successful-but-ugly splat still spends credits; a failed provider job returns them.

Decision before the second charge

  1. Name the job. Exploring concepts in chat? Agent. One photo → accepted PLY/SPLAT? TripoSplat.
  2. Read the credit quote on TripoSplat for your Gaussian budget before Generate.
  3. Run one. Download PLY/SPLAT. Orbit it.
  4. Only then buy a bigger pack — or open an Agent month if the brief turned conversational.
  5. Do not burn splat credits trying to fake an Agent brainstorm, or open an Agent month to price one accepted orbit view.

Worked example

You have a single product still of a watch. Marketing needs a web orbit viewer by Friday; design may want concept chat next month. Today you only need the viewer. You buy TripoSplat Single $9.9, the UI quotes ~60 credits, you download PLY/SPLAT, it passes the orbit test. You still have roughly 190 credits for a second Gaussian budget if lighting was soft. You do not open a Meshy Agent session “just in case” — that is a different purchase for a different week. When design wants five concept directions from a vague brief, then evaluate the Agent path on Meshy's own credit math.
